Handlingen skal finne sted i en liten britisk by med navnet Pagford, en by som visstnok ikke er så idyllisk som den ser ut til på overflaten. "bak den pene fasaden er en by i krig", skriver forlaget Little, Brown på sin hjemmeside.

"Rike i krig med fattige. Tenåringer i krig med sine foreldre. Koner i krig med sine ektemenn. Lærere i krig med sine elever", forteller de videre.

Mye av handlingen i boka ser ut til å skulle kretse rundt det plutselige dødsfallet til noen og førti år gamle Barry Fairweather, og den påfølgende kampen om hans plass i byrådet.

Forlaget beskriver den som svart humor, og forteller at den vil komme ut som papirbok og ebok samtidig, nærmere bestemt 27. september i år.

J.K.
