Up to 80 per cent of the adult population suffer from dental phobia. One adult person in seven has no dental treatment. Dental
phobia, or the fear of the dentist, can be much more than a fear of actual dental procedures. It can also be the cause of
physical pain through toothache, the development of abscesses and other problems, including bad teeth, and results in loss
of confidence through poor dental hygiene. Eventually, it may inhibit the inability to smile naturally and with confidence.
Fear of the dentist is extremely widespread. When asked, some four out of five people, 80 per cent of the adult population,
admit to a fear of the dentist, with as many as one in seven people never undergoing any dental treatment at all. Fear of
the dentist and dental procedures can be due to bad experiences in the past or irrational thoughts about the treatment. Knowing
that much is irrational thought does not help. The emotional response is much more powerful than mere thought. That's why
hypnosis can be of great help to sufferers, since the emotional control can be a potent ally in any therapeutic process.
Not only is a hypnotic trance a completely pleasant and enjoyable state to achieve, it can also teach the listener how to
lose unnecessary negative feelings they may have about seeking dental treatment. By playing this CD regularly, the listener
will learn to relax in body and mind before and during visits to the dentist. And what's more - they can just drift away during
dental treatment and even enjoy a procedure that once caused so much fear, thus regaining all the benefits of healthy teeth
in the process.
