Kim Barnes (Illustrator)
I grew up on the Isle of Wight reading books and drawing whenever I had the chance; I always carried around a sketchbook as a child.
When it came to choosing my degree it was an easy decision and I moved to Lincoln to study Illustration. During my degree I began focusing on children's illustration and I never looked back. I love reliving my childhood through the stories I create and work with.
After I graduated in 2014, I decided to stay in Lincoln and I now work from my home studio surrounded by books and my two cats. I can normally be found with a pencil in one hand and a cup of tea in the other.
When I'm not illustrating, I love to bake and do some gardening and I am luckily enough to live right next to the lovely canal in Lincoln and I often take short walks in the sunshine.
