– Journalisten Tintin blir av sin arbeidsgiver Tidens Tegn sendt til Sovjet for å dokumentere og opplyse deres lesere om situasjonen i landet etter 1917. Sammen med sin trofaste hund, Terry, drar Tintin for å gjennomføre sitt oppdrag. Men det er noen som vil hindre at han noen gang får rapportert tilbake om Sovjet, og Tintin må oppleve litt av hvert underveis for å bringe "sannheten" frem til leserne. Tintin in Soviet er den minst utypiske Tintin-historien av alle Tintin-seriene Hergé har laget. Dette skyldes at dette var den første Tintin-historien han lagde, hvor historien er på mange måter mer fordomsfull enn Tintin in the Congo. På tross av dette finner man fremdeles de typiske Tintin-trekkene, deriblant en ung mann som er ute på eventyr, følgesvennen Terry og måten Tintin kommer ut av de ulike situasjonene han blir satt opp mot. Tintin in Soviet forklarer dessuten hvordan helten Tintin får sin berømte sveis, som må sidestilles med helten MacGyvers hockeysveis. Anbefales på det sterkeste!
