happening at a colony of aphids on a plant, with different types of insects
visiting the colony to collect the honeydew or to eat or parasitise the aphids.
This book introduces the natural history of an aphid colony and its many
visitors. It describes what is known of the hunting and attack behaviour of the
predators, and of the avoidance behaviour of the aphids. Informed investigation
of an aphid colony can reveal interactions that are relevant to predation in
