– Lestat is still marked by his encounter with the devil, and yet, as always, he remains alive. While he is sulking, Louis has decided to seek help from one of David¿s old colleagues, Merrick. She is a member of the Talamaska, but more importantly she is one of the Mayfair witches. Louis wishes for her to make contact with the soul of long lost Claudia. But soul seeking is a tricky business and you can never know if you¿ll find the right one, just a shadow or a demon. You¿ll also have trouble knowing just exactly what will happen. Merrick agrees to try, but she will demand something in return. Another great book, here we once more get in contact with both the Talamaska as well as the Mayfair witches, both of whom we see in several of the other books. The Mayfair witches also have three books outside of the vampire chronicles ¿ I advise you to read them as well.
