Physics for the IB Diploma Third edition
«
The syllabus is very well presented and clearly focused to the assessment but learning Physics is in the foreground. This is nicely done! The author covers the syllabus as well as going beyond to transmit a broad knowledge and understanding of Physics. The organization of the book follows the same order of topics as the IB Physics Guide.
» Aurora Vicens PhD, Aurora Vicens
Each topic opens with the "Guiding Questions" and is then separated into sub-topics identified by the corresponding IB syllabus content or "Understanding" in wording identical to that used in the IB Physics Guide. The subtopics are presented in an order that makes sense in terms of the Physics, so that reading flows easily.
The book covers all "Guidance" points. There are many indications of International Mindedness implicit in the text, as exercises, explanations or pictures. There are many Tools, TOK, NoS and ATL boxes as well as worked examples and advice (Top Tips and Common mistakes). Extra vocabulary and information allow for a more complete presentation of the Physics. There are many different types of exercises as well as checkpoints for students to practice, including IB paper questions at the end of each topic.
I have enjoyed reviewing the book and hope my input contributes to making it a better coursebook. Thank you for the opportunity to participate. I so [heart] IB Physics!
