– Rex Fortescue får et anfall på kontoret, for siden å dø på sykehuset. Det skal snart vise seg at dødsårsaken er forgiftning. Det er nok av mistenkte som ønsket den eldre mannen død både innen familien og i forretningskretser, og for betjent Neele blir det ingen enkel sak å finne frem til den skyldige. Men så dukker Miss Marple opp, og da blir det raskt fart i sakene. 'A Pocket full of Rye' er en helt ok krim, men ikke av Agatha Christies beste. Den ble litt for kjedelig og gjennomsiktig, og det tok ikke lang tid å pønske ut hvem som var morderen. Den har likevel en viss underholdningsverdi, og er grei nok tidtrøyte.
