Med utgangspunkt i tre ulike fenomen; fotball, polo og tango viser Archetti korleis menn her skaper både nasjonal maskulin idenititet og moralske normer, spesielt gjennom å sjå seg sjølve som 'motsett av' utlendingar, spesielt britar. Boka er godt skrive og det er lett å følge forfattarens argumentasjon då han gjennomgåande vekslar mellom teori og empiri, i staden for å spare det analytiske til slutt. Boka anbefalast til alle som er interessert i tema identitet, maskulinitet og moralitet, samt ekstra aktuell kanskje for dei med ei interesse for fotball, polo eller tango.
