Company democracy is often misunderstood in the business context as democracy is usually related to politics. In this book, the authors present a different dimension. They focus first on employees and their work context and then give them new possibilities to understand democracy from the company floor level.
The Company Democracy Model (CDM) is an industry-wide, practical standard for knowledge management utilization under applied philosophical thinking. The model progresses through a framework in which an organizational evolutionary spiral method supports creating knowledge-based democratic cultures for effective organizational knowledge-based management and leadership. Through this new innovative methodology of techniques and processes, we can gain/create many ideas, insights, innovations, new products, and services to benefit the company in many ways.
The basis of this book is a metaphor for the concepts of the world around employees, the company itself, and business ontologies. Metaphors and ontologies are based on the fundamentals of employees and business in a democratic business environment.
Starting with a symbolic and ontological structure, one purpose is to create a solid conceptual framework as a theoretical basis for a business strategy that promotes continuous, sustainable, and democratic development.
Another goal is to find benchmarks to clarify differences and emphasize the importance of capital-related and human-related business issues in shaping a company's profitability, productivity, performance, and shared value.
The third purpose is to use a symbolic infrastructure to create a model for building a solid democratic system to serve continuous business development. All the functions described giving the reader new ideas for starting business activities in a collective, modern democratic way.
