– Denne boken gjør nærmest dets innhold, forføringskunsten, om til et historiefilosofisk fag. Boken tar for seg hemmeligheten og historien bak kunsten å forføre. Det er en veldig omfattende bok, og den er spekket med et imponerende antall eksempler fra gammel tid, og kretser særlig rundt historiene fra 1700-tallets Frankrike, og nevner også selvsagt Cleopatra, Casanova, Catharina den store, Napoleon og Josephine og mange flere. Boken er også omfangsrik når den utbroderer de ulike faktorene ved forføring. Dette er en bok som mange vil finne spennende. Noe som drar litt ned ved vurderingen av den, er at den etterhvert virker noe repeterende og monoton.
