Om forfatteren

Rodney Simmonds was born in Bedfordshire and had a secondary school education before joining the RAF at sixteen. He trained as an aircraft engineer, later serving in Singapore and Kenya where he was involved in training Kenyan personnel. He became a publican in 1975 when leaving the RAF, returned to aircraft engineering in 1979 with a two-year contract in Saudi Arabia. When that ended he took on a pub in Sheffield before moving to another near Goole in Yorshire where he remained for a number of years. In his retirement he has enjoyed travelling and experiencing pubs across England. He now lives in Shroton, Dorset.
