The main character, Roger Torraway, is an ex-astronaut who now makes a comfortable living as a scientific consultant, after-dinner speaker and minor celebrity. One of the programmes he is currently serving on is the Man Plus programme, the purpose of which is to adapt a human being to live on the surface of the planet Mars. This novel by Frederik Pohl is written in depth and description, both the characters and their surroundings are described in such detail that it becomes utterly amazing to read! "Man Plus" is a true science fiction novel, it tackles the plots and themes of the genre, and with high originality and wit, "Man Plus" is a science fiction read I very much recommend!
