– Bøkene om Percy Jackson, sønn av den greske guden Poseidon og en vanlig kvinne, blir stadig bedre. Etterhvert som Percy blir eldre og modnes blir bøkene også mer modne. Tonen er mer alvorlig i denne fjerde boken, og hovedhistorien tilspisser seg. Likevel er det innslag av barnslige elementer (sånn som møtet med sfinxen). Dette passer dessverre dårlig inn når resten av boken er såpass moden. Historien er bedre og mindre fragmentarisk enn i forgjengerne, men jeg synes fremdeles det er for mange enkle løsninger i historien - det blir litt userisøst. Men tar man det for det dét er, nemlig en spenningsbok for ungdom, oppfyller den kravene til dette, og vel så det. Kan godt leses som underholdning av unge og voksne.
