'The illustrations are beautiful, and idyllic, capturing a bygone era of slow living, hand made clothing, farming and gentle village life. While modern picture books are colourful, bright and have very few words on each page, these stories are comparatively lengthy, with more complex words and far more words than illustrations. I found that both children fully relaxed into a snuggly cuddle and really observed each picture, slowly... Classic gems like Peter and Lotta are an antidote to our fast-paced world and a gentle reminder for adults and children to slow down a little, together.'
