Om boka

Sometimes a glimpse of the past can feel like visiting a battlefield. In London, 1988 was a difficult time for gay men; the AIDS epidemic was exploding, Clause 28 legislation was introduced and the media was having a homophobic witch-hunt. A few foolhardy idealists met in a derelict basement and began to dream of a better future. This book tells what happened when pride and prejudice met rock and roll. It's a contemporary adventure that will make your heart sing.

Om forfatteren

Robert Offord was born in 1951 and raised in North London. The teenage years were constructively derailed by psychedelic folk music, and in the 1970s a passion for pop-art and punk revolution arrived. After a brief diversion into scientific study, and some experimentation with existentialism and alienation, he gained a BA (Hons) from Middlesex University in 1981. His career as a part-time art teacher was cut short by accidentally achieving international success as a graphic artist.Freedom followed and in 1991 the London Gay Men's Chorus began; history continues to unfold
