– This is a very well researched study of women in ancient Celtic society that was fascinating and enjoyable to read. To discover that women and men were held in equal esteem in ancient Celtic society was an interesting surprise. This seems to have to do with the former respect for the Divine feminine, which was seen in many ancient cultures, and which was - perhaps to modern society's detriment - pushed aside for worship of male gods, eventually making room for the monotheistic religions. Today, glimpses of this ancient respect and honor in which the feminine was held can been seen in legend, mythology and later literature that kept the idea alive. This is a wonderful read, and I can certainly say that I learned a great deal from it. Highly recommended.
