Fun isn't something you can only have when you crochet. You can have fun when you knit, too. Lesley, Betty, Jessica and Kristin have just as much knowledge and experience of knitting as they do of crochet. And just as much love. In this book, there are floral block and chart designs to be stitched together into a blanketm cushion cover or shawl. But it's the 3d projects inspired by fish, birds, flora and fauna that are perhaps the most fun of all. You could knit yourself a whole aquarium of tropical fish. Or how about a family of blue tits? You might also want to knit a maple leaf, an acorn... or if it's Christmas, a sprig of mistletoe. The patterns are accessible for beginners and experienced knitters alike, and can be made up using odds and ends of yarn. The more you knit, the better you get. But what's the point in knitting and crochet, if it's not fun?

A great book full of ideas.

This book contains a wealth of ideas to knit using small amounts of yarn from a knitter’s stash. The projects could be used to embellish a project or as stand alone projects.

The instructions for the projects are clear and the photographs enable the knitter to visualize each project. I can see that ideas could easily be used as part of a group project such as under the sea, what one may find in a garden or springtime has arrived.

Some of the projects are motifs within squares, some are 3D and others could easily be used as a border for a jumper or hat.

The projects range in difficulty such as an easy harvest leaf or a more complex Yeti crab. The knitter can expand their skills by trying out different ones to develop their skills.

I would recommend this book to add to your library.

200 small projects to knit no matter what your skill level. Levels are indicated from beginner to advanced. 3D projects are inspired by nature and include knitted flowers, birds, bugs, leaves and sea creatures. You'll also find floral block designs. Projects are a great way to use up odd leftover yarn. Equipment, yarn, knitting and crochet as well as finishing techniques are given at the back of the book, with useful images. Photos of all the projects appear at the front of the book, then again with the instructions. Some of the floral blocks have chart designs, I like the flower beds and these blocks could be stitched together to make a blanket. I can see the crab and bird's nests being very popular. The blue-tit is a must-knit.
